The Gruenheid lab is looking for a Research Assistant to join our team!

Job Description:

- mouse breeding, colony maintenance, genotyping, mouse monitoring and associated recordkeeping, including writing and amending animal use protocols.

- assist in arranging transfer of animals between collaborators’ labs

- conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments, including BSL2 level infections, necropsy, flow cytometry and cell culture, and assist other lab members in experiments as required

- train undergraduate and graduate students

-other routine lab tasks and lab organization

Qualifications:

-M.Sc. in life sciences

-Background in Microbiology and Immunology

-knowledge of neuroscience an asset

-experience working with BSL2 organisms

-experience in mouse colony maintenance and genotyping

-experience with mouse disease models

-experience in cell culture and flow cytometry

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (functional French would be an asset)

-highly organized

-outstanding interpersonal skills
